Visitors must first pass through a chaukhat in order to enter our homes. Visitors are always treated as Gods in India, or “Atithi Devo Bhavah.” However, no one wants to host borers and termites as guests. The cellulose found in hardwood chaukhats and the hot, humid air in India provide the ideal environment for these microscopic pests to thrive. They enter our homes in this fashion, and they immediately begin to destroy all of the furniture, from chaukhats to doors to our closets, beds, and kitchen cupboards. The only means of stopping this attack is by eliminating the root of the problem and employing chaukhat that are completely termite proof.
